Huddlekit is the closest tool to Layerdock in shape. A reviewer opens a share link with nothing to install, pins follow the element they were placed on, and guests are unlimited. Both also ship an MCP server, so the feedback can reach an AI coding assistant.
So the decision is not the workflow. It is price and what each side has built around the pin. Huddlekit is cheaper at every tier and has more ways to look at a page: side-by-side and custom breakpoints, an inspect mode, layout grids. It also reviews images, PDFs and video.
Layerdock’s case is the data that arrives with a pin. Every pin records the DOM element, a screenshot, console errors and failed network requests, reviewers can record their screen, and feedback can be split into layers per build. On Layerdock the diagnostics read sits on the Agency plan ($69/mo, or $59/mo billed yearly), so compare that tier to Huddlekit Team ($33/mo annually) rather than the entry prices.

- Side-by-side breakpoints and custom breakpoints, plus an inspect mode, layout grids and a Kanban board. Its review surface is broader than ours.
- It reviews images, PDFs and video as well as websites, where Layerdock is live websites only.
When Layerdock is the better choice
- Console errors and network requests are captured on every pin (read on the Agency plan). Huddlekit’s pages do not mention console or network capture.
- Reviewers can record their screen and voice, and feedback is organised into build layers, so staging and last week’s release stay in separate threads.
- Jira, GitHub and Trello alongside Slack and Linear. Huddlekit lists Linear, ClickUp, Notion, Slack, Zapier and webhooks.
