Refund Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

The short version
  • Every account starts with a 14-day free trial. No card is required, and it never turns into a paid subscription on its own.
  • If you do subscribe, you can request a full refund of your first payment within 14 days. No reason needed.
  • You can cancel at any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • We do not refund partial periods, and renewal payments sit outside the 14-day guarantee.

1. Try Layerdock before you pay

Every new account gets a 14-day free trialof Layerdock. The trial does not require a credit card, and we do not ask for payment details to start it. When the 14 days end the trial simply stops — it does not convert into a paid subscription, and you are never charged automatically. You only ever pay if you deliberately choose a paid plan and complete a checkout.

We mention this first because it is the fairest refund policy there is: the trial exists so you can find out whether Layerdock works for you without spending anything.

2. 14-day money-back guarantee

If you subscribe to a paid plan and it turns out not to be right for you, contact us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment in full.

This applies to:

  • The initial payment on a new Pro or Agency subscription
  • Both monthly and annual billing cycles

You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask you to fill in a survey or sit through a call before the refund is approved. Your subscription is cancelled at the same time, and access ends when the refund is issued.

3. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time from the billing settings in your dashboard. Cancelling turns off automatic renewal — it is not an immediate shutdown. You keep full access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again after that.

Because you keep the access you paid for, cancelling part-way through a month or a year does not produce a refund for the remaining days. We do not issue prorated refunds for partial billing periods, for unused workspaces, or for team seats you stopped using.

4. Renewal payments

The guarantee in section 2 covers your first payment. Renewal payments — the second month, the second year, and every one after that — are not covered by it, because by then you have used the product for a full billing period.

That said, we know an unwanted renewal can catch people out. If you were charged for a renewal you did not intend and you get in touch promptly, write to us and we will look at it and decide in good faith. That is a case-by-case discretion rather than a guarantee, and we would rather say so plainly than imply a promise we have not made.

5. How to request a refund

Email support@layerdock.io from the address on the account. To help us find the payment quickly, please include:

  • The email address your Layerdock account uses
  • The date of the payment
  • The order or receipt number from your Paddle receipt, if you still have it

We aim to reply within 2 business days. A request that falls inside the 14-day guarantee is approved as a matter of course, not as a favour.

6. Who issues the refund, and when it arrives

Payments for Layerdock are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle is the seller named on your receipt, it collects and remits any applicable VAT or sales tax, and it is Paddle that returns the money to your original payment method once a refund is approved. Any tax you were charged is refunded along with the payment.

Once approved, the refund is issued immediately on our side. How long it then takes to show up on your statement is up to your bank or card issuer and is outside our control — for most cards it lands within a few business days, though some banks take longer.

You can also raise a refund or billing question with Paddle directly, using the contact details shown on your receipt. Either route reaches the same outcome.

7. What we do not refund

  • Partial or unused portions of a billing period after a cancellation
  • Renewal payments, outside the circumstances described in section 4
  • Accounts terminated by us for a breach of our Terms of Service

8. Problems with the Service

The list above covers ordinary change-of-mind requests. It is not meant to shut the door on a genuine complaint: if Layerdock was unavailable, did not work as described, or you were billed incorrectly, tell us at support@layerdock.io and we will put it right. A billing error on our side is corrected regardless of any time limit on this page.

9. Chargebacks

If something has gone wrong with a payment, please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank. A chargeback takes weeks to resolve and can lock the account while it is in progress, whereas an email usually settles the same thing within a couple of days.

10. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the consumer protection or distance selling laws of your own country, including any statutory right of withdrawal. Where those laws give you more than this policy does, those laws apply.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any change applies only to payments made after it is published — the version in force on the day you paid is the one that governs your refund. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

12. Contact
