Cookie Policy

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Related technologies, localStorage and sessionStorage, store data the same way without sending it back to a server. This policy covers all of them.

2. Strictly Necessary

These are set without consent because the product does not function without them. You cannot opt out of these while using Layerdock.

• Consent preference (ld_cookie_consent, localStorage): remembers the choice you made on the cookie banner so we do not ask again. Stored only in your browser.
• Consent region (ld_consent_region): records whether you are browsing from a country where we must ask before setting analytics cookies (see section 3). Derived from the country of your IP address by our host; the address itself is not stored. Expires after 30 days.
• Supabase auth (sb-*): keeps you signed in and lets us read your own data from our database. Set by Supabase, our authentication provider. Short-lived and refreshed automatically; expires with your session.
• Google sign-in prompt (g_state): when you are signed out and signed in to Google, our marketing pages may show Google’s “Continue as” card so you can create an account in one click. Google sets this cookie on our domain only to remember that you closed the card, so it is not shown again for a while. It holds no identifier and is not used for analytics or advertising.

3. Analytics & Diagnostics

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, no cookie in this section is set unless you choose “Accept all” on the banner. Choosing “Essential only” leaves every one of them unset.

Everywhere else, we show no banner and the Google Analytics cookies below are on by default. You can switch them off at any time with the control in section 6, and that choice is honoured from then on. Session Replay stays off unless you choose “Accept all”, wherever you are.

One tool listed here stores nothing in your browser at all, so it runs either way; it says so in its own entry.

• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): tells us which pages people reach and roughly where they arrive from. It runs under Google Consent Mode: where consent is required (or once you choose “Essential only”) it is explicitly told that storage is denied until you choose “Accept all”, so it writes no cookie and keeps no identifier for you, and we receive only an anonymous count of the page view. Accepting turns on the cookies above, which is what lets a repeat visit be recognised as the same browser. Advertising and remarketing signals are switched off permanently and are not affected by your choice, because we run no ads.
• Vercel Web Analytics & Speed Insights: counts page views and where visitors arrive from, and records how quickly pages actually rendered and responded for you — timings your browser measures anyway. Both are run by the company that hosts this site and are cookieless by design: they store nothing in your browser and keep no identifier for you. Visits are counted from a hash that Vercel rotates daily on its own servers, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next, and there is nothing here for “Essential only” to switch off. We list them because you deserve to know every measurement tool that runs, not only the ones that set cookies.
• Sentry error tracking & performance: records the technical details of crashes and slow requests so we can fix them. We disable Sentry's automatic PII collection, redact credentials from URLs and headers, and retain only your account ID for correlation.
• Sentry Session Replay: records an anonymised reconstruction of your interaction with a page when an error occurs. All text is masked and all media is blocked before the recording leaves your browser. This is the most invasive thing we run, which is why it is off by default.

4. What We Do Not Use

Layerdock sets no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, and no data-broker or social-network trackers. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

5. Websites Under Review

When you review a website through a Layerdock review link, cookies that website sets are kept for that review session only and are separate from the cookies it sets when you visit it directly. Layerdock does not read or use them.
