1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, create or review docks, upload screenshots, record video comments, or communicate with us. This includes your name, email address, and any content you submit through the platform.

When you use Layerdock, we automatically collect certain technical information about your device and usage, including browser type, operating system, referring URLs, page views, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your session and remember your preferences.

1.1 Reviewing a Website

When you open a website in a Layerdock review link, Layerdock loads that website through its review service and adds the Layerdock pin tool to it, so you can click any element and leave feedback pinned to it without installing anything. The review service requests the pages you open from the website's own server and passes them to your browser; it does not keep copies of those pages. Cookies the website sets are kept for that review session only. The pin tool collects the following, only on the website under review:

• Page element data: the CSS selector, tag name, and a short label for the element you clicked, and the page URL and viewport size at the time.
• Screenshot: an image of the element or of the page, generated in your browser and uploaded only when you submit feedback. When you use the Screenshot button, your browser may ask your permission to share the current tab; Layerdock reads a single image and stops sharing straight away.
• Diagnostics bundle: the last ~50 browser console log entries and the last ~50 network requests (URL, method, status, duration) from the page under review, plus basic system info (browser and OS version, screen resolution, viewport size, language, device pixel ratio, installed fonts, CPU core count, approximate device memory, platform). These are held in your browser while you review and are attached only to feedback you submit, to help the person you're reporting to reproduce the issue.
• Screen recording: if you start a recording, your browser asks which tab or window to share (and whether to include microphone audio, if you enable it). Recordings are uploaded only when you attach them to feedback.

None of this is sent to Layerdock in the background. A screenshot, diagnostics bundle or recording leaves your browser only as part of feedback you choose to submit.

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Layerdock; to process transactions and send billing information; to send technical notices, updates, and support messages; and to respond to your comments and questions.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your content for training AI models or for any purpose other than delivering the service you requested.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Supabase for database storage and Supabase Storage for file uploads. All connections are served over HTTPS with TLS 1.3.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it.

4. Third-Party Services

Layerdock integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google: sign-in (OAuth); we receive your name, email address and avatar
• Supabase: database, storage, and real-time features
• Paddle: payment processing and subscription management. Paddle acts as the merchant of record for purchases and is the seller on your receipt
• Vercel: hosting and deployment, plus cookieless traffic and page-speed analytics (page views, referrers and load timings; no cookie and no identifier is stored in your browser)
• Cloudflare: runs the review service that loads a website under review and adds the pin tool to it (see 1.1); it passes pages through and does not keep copies of them

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing the data they process on our behalf. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. You may also have the right to restrict or object to certain processing activities.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of Layerdock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
