Inspect

See what's behind every element on the page.

Open Inspect mode while you review a page. Check styles, spacing, and components, pin what you find to the right element, and give your team a clear next step.

Inspect the page in context.

Click any element on the live page to see its styles, spacing, and structure. Keep your findings next to the element they concern, so the team knows where to start.

Turn a finding into a clear fix.

Spot the wrong font size, the uneven padding, or the off-brand color, then pin it with a note. The developer gets the exact element and the details they need, without another round of questions.

Highlight components across the page.

Turn on the components highlighter to see how a page is built and where each component is used. It makes it easier to catch inconsistencies and talk about the design in the same language as your developers.

Check every screen size in one place.

Switch between viewports without leaving the review. See how layouts hold up on desktop, tablet, and mobile, and pin issues on the exact breakpoint where they appear.

Frequently asked questions

What to know about LayerDock, privacy, and getting started.

What does Inspect mode do?

Click any element on the page you are reviewing and Inspect mode shows its box model, spacing and computed styles, with distance guides to its neighbours. It reads the page and changes nothing on it.

Is Inspect mode available on the Free plan?

Yes. Inspect mode, the components highlighter and the viewport switcher are included on every plan, Free as well as Pro and Agency.

Do I need to know how to code to use Inspect mode?

No. Click the element you have a question about and the details are laid out for you. You can pin a note without reading any of it; the developer who picks up the pin gets the element and its styles either way.
