Capture

Show what happened. Say what matters.

When a screenshot is not enough, record a video and talk through what you saw, what you expected, and where the team should look. Capture the moment while it is still easy to explain.

Show the issue as it happens.

Walk through the page instead of writing a long set of reproduction steps. Point out the interaction, explain what felt wrong, and give the team a view of the issue in motion.

Add your voice to the picture.

Use audio to explain the detail a clip cannot show on its own: what you clicked, what you expected, or why the behavior matters. Keep the explanation in your own words.

Keep the recording with the review.

A recording is most useful when the team can find the page and the related feedback beside it. Keep capture close to the rest of the review so the next person does not have to hunt through another tool for context.

Move from seeing it to fixing it.

Pair a walkthrough with page feedback and the browser details available to your team. Then share the context with the people who need to reproduce, discuss, and resolve the issue.

Frequently asked questions

What to know about LayerDock, privacy, and getting started.

What should I record?

Anything that is hard to describe in a sentence: an animation that stutters, a form that fails on the third step, a hover state that flickers. Each recording can run up to 3 minutes.

Can I use capture for feedback?

Yes. A recording is attached to a pin, so it sits in the dock beside the page and the conversation it belongs to. Screen recording is part of Pro (25 recordings per billing period) and Agency (100).

Do I need an extension to record?

No. Recording runs in the browser on the review page and uses the browser’s own screen-sharing prompt. Nothing is installed.
